President Erdoğan: “We will establish data center zones with continuous energy infrastructure”

President Erdoğan stated that they aim to increase data center investments, currently at 250 megawatts, to 1 gigawatt by 2030, saying: “We will establish data center zones with secure and continuous energy infrastructure, where investments exceeding 10 billion dollars will be made.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press briefing following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting held at the Presidential Complex.

Making statements regarding the topics discussed during the meeting, President Erdoğan said:

“In our Cabinet Meeting, we also evaluated the work we are conducting in the field of artificial intelligence. Currently, our data center investments stand at 250 megawatts, and we aim to increase this to 1 gigawatt by the year 2030.

We will establish data center zones with secure and continuous energy infrastructure, where investments exceeding 10 billion dollars will be made.

We will make specialized training in artificial intelligence more widespread. Through the Artificial Intelligence Fund, we will scale up initiatives in this field.

With the National Artificial Intelligence Board, we will accelerate public-benefit projects by transforming the big data held by the state into value.

We will continue to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks that come with artificial intelligence.

In defiance of those who care only for their seats, ambitions, and personal interests, we will continue working tirelessly for the sake of future generations.”
